Dracaena/Sansevieria trifasciata - Black Gold 05

The perfect plant for a space in your house that does not receive as much bright light – and it’s equally happy in a bright sunny location. Beware of full afternoon summer sun, as it may scorch the leaves.

It has an upright growth habit with snake skin patterned leaves in deep green.

This is an easy care houseplant, forming dense clumps. It spreads by way of a creeping underground rhizome which will push above the potting mix starting as a small rounded tip.

This plant has stiff leaves which grow vertically from a rosette at the base. If you have one that is straight down into the mix, with no central rosette, it’s because it was grown from a cutting rather than propagated from a rhizome.

Mature leaves of this Black Gold variety are broad, dark green with light yellow-green edges. Indoors they grow to about 30-50 cm high, and 10cm wide.

Care and maintenance: due to its non-demanding nature, this plant requires very little maintenance. They will tolerate lower light conditions – but remember nothing will thrive in a cave. The less light it gets, the less water it needs.

Your plant will come in its preferred potting mix. No need to pot it on once you get it home. There will be plenty of growing room in its pot for at least a year.

Fertilise when you see active growth. Fertiliser supports growth, it doesn’t benefit the plant if it’s not growing.
